SOILPRO is a project financed among the LIFE+ (Environment Policy and Governance) projects. The overall objective of the project is to halt soil degradation in EU Member States in line with the European Thematic Strategy for Soil Protection. The pilot areas of the project are in Sicily and Peloponnese regions: two European regions which are among the most affected by land degradation and desertification. The project has the aim to create a system, freely accessible through web, to monitor the effectiveness of soil protection measures and to find the best practices in terms of effective soil protection and in terms of acceptance by land owners.
